We are excited to announce that students from the Delaware Area Career Center's Agricultural Science program at Big Walnut High School will be representing Ohio at the FFA National Competition later this year.

In the Floriculture event, our students showcased their exceptional skills by competing in various activities, including plant identification, evaluating plant quality, completing a greenhouse skills practicum, and floral design. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they clinched the first-place position at the state competition. Impressively, this marks the fourth consecutive year that our floriculture students have earned first place and represented Ohio at the national level.

Additionally, our students excelled in the Food Science and Technology competition, where they demonstrated their knowledge of the food industry through a written test and practical evaluations. With outstanding individual performances and a winning team product development project, our students secured first, second, third, and eighth place rankings at the state finals. This achievement marks the sixth consecutive year that our Food Science and Technology team has emerged victorious, representing Ohio at the national level.

We are proud of our students' dedication, hard work, and commitment to learning. Their success is a testament to their exceptional abilities and the guidance provided by their instructor, Mr. Jeffrey Stimmell. As they prepare for the national competition, we wish them the best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements.
