Agricultural Science

Preparing students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices

Agricultural Education is designed for students to build upon their experiences in and out of the classroom. Students have the opportunity to hone skills through nationally recognized competitions, build leadership principles at state and national gatherings, and explore colleges and careers through supervised projects.

Students are immersed in the science and technology of an on-the-move industry when they enroll in the Agriculture Program at Big Walnut. You do not need to live on a farm or want to be a farmer to join the program! In fact, only a few students in the program do.

There are opportunities to gain hands-on experience in many interesting areas, including:

  • Animal and Veterinary Science

  • Horticulture and Botany

  • Food Processing Technology

  • Natural Resources and Environmental Science

  • Biotechnology and Research

  • Communication and Public Speaking

  • Finance and Money Management

  • Sales
